Even when we remove all the visible dog poop, tiny residues and bacteria remain on the grass and soil. Also, dog urine soaks in and leaves odorous compounds behind. Over time (and especially in warm or wet weather), those leftovers cause a lingering smell. Rain won’t fully wash it away – in fact, moisture can reactivate the odors and spread them. Our deodorizing service tackles what scooping alone can’t: we sanitize the spots your dog frequents, killing germs and neutralizing urine so that no sneaky smells stick around. It’s the finishing touch that makes your yard truly clean beyond just picking up the poop.

Yes – completely safe. We use a pet-friendly, veterinary-approved solution (Wysiwash) that is designed to be used around animals and on outdoor surfaces. It contains no harsh chemicals that would harm your lawn or plants. After application, we let it dry, and it leaves no residue. Once dry, your pets and children can run and play like normal. There’s no need to worry about paws or shoes tracking anything toxic – the formula is even biodegradable. In fact, Wysiwash is so safe it’s rated for use on surfaces in dog daycare play yards and even food prep areas (it’s NSF-certified as “no rinse required”). Your grass, shrubs, and flowers will be perfectly fine – no yellowing, no damage. And of course, our technicians are trained to apply the right amount — we’re careful not to oversaturate or spray anything that shouldn’t be sprayed.

Not long at all. Typically 10 minutes or so. We usually spray as the final step of our visit. The mist we apply is very fine and dries quickly. By the time we’re packing up to leave, most of the yard is already dry or well on its way. We recommend keeping your pets inside just until everything dries completely (usually no more than 15 minutes to be safe). Once dry, it’s playtime again! There’s no strong chemical residue or fumes – if you stepped outside 15 minutes after a treatment, you probably wouldn’t even know we sprayed (aside from the lack of odor).

Our deodorizing treatment has a very light, clean scent as it’s being applied, but it does not leave any heavy fragrance behind. You might notice a mild “clean pool” or chlorinated water smell while we spray (since Wysiwash is chlorine-based), but that dissipates extremely fast as it dries. We do not use perfumes or masking scents. So no, your yard won’t smell like a perfume or a bleachy bathroom after we’re done. It will simply smell neutral – basically the absence of bad smell. Some clients say it just smells like a fresh rain for a few minutes, then nothing. Our goal is a yard that smells like outdoors, not chemicals.

We can deodorize any outdoor area where your pets go. This includes your lawn or dog potty area, dog runs, dirt or mulch areas, around fire hydrants or favorite pee posts, gravel or rock landscaping, and hard surfaces like concrete patios, driveways, sidewalks, decks, and porches. The Wysiwash solution is safe on most materials (grass, wood, composite decking, concrete, stone, artificial turf, etc.). If your dog has a “favorite spot” – say the base of a fence post or a corner of the yard – we make sure to hit those target areas. For dog runs or kennel areas, we’ll spray the ground and even the lower fence lines if needed (dogs often mark those). Essentially, anywhere that might have absorbed pet waste odors outdoors, we can treat and freshen up. (Indoors is a different story – our service is for outdoor yards only.)

It depends on your situation. We offer it weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly to fit different needs. Here are some guidelines: If you have multiple dogs or a small yard that they use heavily, a weekly deodorizing will keep odors totally under control all the time. If you have one dog or a larger yard and notice smells only occasionally (for example, during hot summer weeks), bi-weekly might be sufficient. Monthly deodorizing is a great maintenance option for many single-dog households – it gives the yard a nice refresh each month so things never get too smelly. You can also just request a one-time deodorizing before a special event or after a long winter as a “reset.” Keep in mind, all our recurring poop scoop plans are no-contract, so you can always adjust the frequency or add/remove the deodorizing service as needed. We’re flexible – our goal is to match your yard’s needs so you’re never paying for more than necessary, but also never suffering with a stinky yard!
